The Air Jordan 22 (XX2 or XXII) PE - Chicago (White / Metallic Silver - Varsity Red) were released on October 6, 2007, retailing for $150.  They were released as part of a regional release, and exclusive to the city of Chicago. They feature a white leather upper, with faded graphics along the base of it, as well as a red strap around the ankle area, and black midsole. The heel counter is constructed from probably some sort of synthetic which is hardened, providing support while trying to prevent any sort of ankle sprain. The side panels also feature small slits which help in the ventilation process, allowing the foot to breathe. The clear outsole features red and black inserts, which are actually a new and improved, color coded version of the IPS (Independent Podular Suspension) system, previously seen on other models. Other technical features include a phylon midsole, new and improved I.P.S. technology, and hardened heel counter that protects even the most vulnerable athlete from a rolled heel, providing a sturdy fit and great comfort.
